He traveled in a 1936 Bentley 4.5 liter Sports Saloon with a maximum speed of 90mph. It was the supreme silence attributable to the Rolls-Royce chassis engeneering that eased long distance journies. He felt his Bentley would only fit into the parking space of a classic Grand Hotel, the reason why he frequented none else. Paris, Biarritz, Lausanne, Milan... To commemorate, he collected grand serving trays, which he eventually willed to his grandson together with the Bentley.
