The 1936 Bentley 4.5 liter Sports Saloon with a speed of 90mph was used for their yearly trip to the Grand at Aix-les-Bains. It was the supreme silence attributable to the Rolls Royce built chassis that eased long distance journeys. They felt the Bentley needed the ambiance of a classic Grand Hotel, the reason why none else were frequented. Paris, Biarritz, Lausanne and finally Milan. To commemorate they collected Grand Hotel trays, which eventually were passed on to their favorite grandson, together with the Bentley.
