Somehow it shows different. A simple picture behind a heavy cast glass disc takes on a special magic. Is it just the weight, is it the luster of the glass? Things seemingly close by, but also distant as through a looking glass. Paperweights have been around for centuries, the Venetian and French millefiori ones are famous. And they are very collectable. The Victorians invented the paperweight with added pictures which have been our inspiration.
