Saturated by the rippling waves of Baroque scrollwork, Britain's George I commissioned designers to seek refuge in clean geometric forms, influenced by ancient Greek and Roman architecture. We chose a hexagonal Georgian "paterae" as the central motif for our Russell collection. A series of web-like convex arches link the paterae's six points, giving Russell a clean-lined form that also visually intriguing.
