Over time scale models made by shipyards, architects and early factories during the industrial revolution acted as sales tools or as a 3-dimensional application to register a patent. Samuel Pepys, Lord of the British Admiralty in the 18th C. was one of the first who created a collection of models, now in the National Maritime Museum. AM has made models presented as gifts to foreign Heads of State and dignitaries by the Netherlands Government. The Katy of Norfolk sits graceful as a white-winged swan; guiding ships to safety.
